It is a government structure by the GoI(Government of India) those people who live in India and financially poor or lowest earners are under that line. It’s an income-based poverty line that was started in 1978.

British Physical Laboratories is the full form of BPL. It is an electronics company in India. It is Bengaluru, India based firm which deals with consumer appliances (such as refrigerators and washing machines), home entertainment products, and health care devices, founded in 1963.
